The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) has confirmed that no Mexican citizens have been directly affected by the recent military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran.
In an official statement released Saturday, the SRE assured that it is closely monitoring the escalating situation and has activated consular protection protocols for Mexican nationals and the families of diplomatic personnel in the region.
SRE Issues Safety Guidelines for Mexicans in the Middle East
SRE reported being fully aware of the series of bombings that began on the night of February 27. In response, it has established constant communication with the Mexican community through its embassies and consular networks in Iran, Israel, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Lebanon, and Kuwait.
Following the confirmation of the attacks by US President Donald Trump, the SRE has urgently called on all Mexican citizens in the affected and surrounding areas to prioritize their safety by adhering to the following recommendations:
- Remain indoors and stay in secure locations.
- Avoid all non-essential travel and movement.
- Strictly follow all instructions issued by local authorities.
- Due to widespread airspace closures and flight disruptions across the region, travelers are urged to contact their airlines directly for the latest information on their flight status.
The agency reiterated its strong recommendation to avoid all travel to the region at this time. For those already there or requiring assistance, the SRE has released emergency contact numbers for its embassies to provide consular protection and attention.
