TIJUANA –The Nortec Collective Presents Bostich + Fussible is collaborating with some of Mexico's traditional norteña bands to produce a new disc.

Ramón "Bostich" Amezcua said that he and Pepe "Fussible" Mogt are working on the new material with Banda El Recodo, Los Tigres del Norte and one of the nephews of Ramón Ayala.

The idea for the disc, Bostich explained, is to produce original melodies and not fall into the typical practice of taking one composition already written and adapt it for another genre.

"It will be a creative process, it's about collaborating with them," he said.

The works that Los Tigres del Norte and Banda El Recodo will record on the disc are unpublished, he noted.

He said that no release date had been set because such a collaboration takes time.

Founded in 1999, the Nortec Collective is a musical group, made up of two or more members, that mixes the techno and norteña musical styles. The group, which has carried Tijuana's name worldwide, has received Latin Grammy and Grammy nominations.

In 2009, the Nortec Collective Bostich + Fussible performed with the Baja California Orchestra on the occasion of Tijuana's anniversary.
