In Baja California 82 thousand people have been vaccinated, however, none of these vaccinations have been carried out in Tijuana; Mexicali started a few weeks ago, same as Tecate and this Tuesday Ensenada will start its vaccination campaign.

However, according to Baja California's Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, there are still "a few days" left before vaccination begins in Tijuana and Rosarito. According to what he shared, they are finalizing which sites will be used for this massive vaccination.

Perez Rico added that Tijuana is the challenge to vaccinate because it is the most populated municipality in the state, but they are expecting 160 thousand vaccinations. It is expected that this will reduce the number of infections and hospitalizations.

So far, Baja California reports 45 thousand 801 people who have been infected with the coronavirus, while it mourns the death of 7 thousand 664 people since the beginning of the pandemic in March of last year. According to the update, the state will remain under yellow for another week.
