LOS ANGELES Adiós Antonio.
Leading Mexican actor Gael García Bernal will star in next chapter of the Zorro saga, leaving Antonio Banderas in the dust, the trade publication Variety reported.
Fox Studios will make the sequel, to be called "Zorro Reborn," in which the masked hero searches for vengeance.
García Bernal, 33, has been in six Oscar-nominated films: "De tripas corazón," best live-action short; "Amores perros" (2000), "Y tu mamá también" (2001), "El crimen de Padre Amaro"
(2002), "The Motorcycle Diaries" (2004) and "Babel" (2006).
He founded a production company with his fellow Mexican actor, and sometime co-star, Diego Luna. One of their projects is a movie festival that travels around Mexican cities to raise awareness about documentaries.
These days, García Bernal can be seen on TV as one of the three fresh faces in the Gillette "Masters of Style" commercial, along with actor Adrien Brody and rapper André.
As for the 51-year-old fox, Banderas starred in "The Legend of Zorro" (in 2005) and seven years earlier in "The Mask of Zorro."
