LOS ANGELES After a special night at Dodger Stadium where the Los Angeles Galaxy defeated the back to back Italian champions Juventus the central defender Omar Gonzalez spoke with the press.
"Playing against one of the best teams in the world was an incredible experience, I will never forget it" said the Mexican-American.
Gonzalez played the entire 90 minutes against the Italian champions and had a solid performance, both defensively and offensively where he contributed the opening goal of the match. It was difficult for him to believe in the moment but it brought him a lot of joy.
"It was an even and tight match during the first half. I decided to keep going on my run after passing the ball to 'Micky' (Marcelo Sarvas) and then Juninho played a perfectly timed pass and I chipped the goalie. I don't know how it happen, those plays never come out right" said the central defender.
Gonzalez has participated in multiple competitions in the past weeks He has played in MLS matches, Gold Cup, matches and now the Guinness International Champions Cup. With important matches coming up for the Galaxy in the local MLS league and the start of the CONCACAF Champion's League fatigue could start becoming an issue. Bur as Gonzalez himself points out, this was the first 90 minutes he has played in weeks.
"Yeah there have been a lot of games, but this was the first time I complete an entire game in a couple of weeks. The time off has really helped. Tomorrow will be a long flight, but the trainers will have us in perfect conditions to play" finalized Omara Gonzalez.
