"Opera en la Calle" (Opera on the Street) the already traditional cultural festival will be held next Saturday July 07 at the Libertad Quarter.
From 12 pm forward, local artistic talent will gather in this famous Quarter located right at the border to delight people from the city with a varied program.
Fifth Street will become once again an open-air popular festival where the audience will enjoy opera music right on the street without having to go to a theater and without being subjected to the dress code this calls for.
This event started back in 2004 as a part of a genre revival, and since then it is a tradition for the attending audience to bring their own masks as a sign of support.
This year the schedule includes presentations for the general audience plus a program of bel canto to reach children.
The Libertad Quarter transforms into something reminiscent of an Italian town where more than 150 artists on stage walk around the main square of the festival thus achieving a unique atmosphere.
With three zone, gastronomic area, art garden and main stage, Opera on the Street is one of the summer's most anticipated events.
