Over 55,000 People Visited Playas de Rosarito During the Weekend

Hotel occupancy peaked at an impressive 97% on Saturday, August 2nd, a clear sign of the city's growing appeal as a destination.

Mayor Rocío Adame of Playas de Rosarito announced that more than 55,000 visitors—tourists and travelers—flocked to the area over the past weekend, solidifying the municipality as one of Baja California’s top destinations.

According to Playas de Rosarito’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism, hotel occupancy reached 79% on Friday, August 1st, 97% on Saturday, August 2nd, and 63% on Sunday, August 3rd. Additionally, as of Monday, occupancy for the upcoming weekend has already surpassed 90%, reaffirming the effectiveness of measures implemented to boost the local tourism economy.

As part of the strategy to promote cultural, gastronomic, and family-friendly tourism, several well-attended events took place over the weekend:

  • “La Noche Blanca: Under Rosarito’s Moon” – Held Friday night in Downtown Rosrito, this event brought together local families and visitors for a cultural gathering featuring artistic performances and regional cuisine.
  • Fish & Seafood Festival – Organized on Saturday, August 2nd, in collaboration with CANIRAC Rosarito (National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry), the festival showcased local chefs and seafood producers, offering free tastings and live music by the beach to promote local products.

  • Rosarito Fair 2025 – Running all weekend in the downtown area, the fair featured amusement rides, local vendors, and family-friendly recreational activities.

The high turnout reflects the coordinated efforts between local authorities, hospitality business owners, and cultural promoters, all working to maintain Playas de Rosarito as an accessible tourist destination with a diverse range of activities.

The Rosarito government thanked visitors for their trust and encouraged everyone to enjoy upcoming events responsibly, fostering an atmosphere of community and respect.
