Thursday was the opening night of the "Greatest show on earth", the circus of Ringling Brothers of Barlum & Baily in the city of San Diego, which drew in crowds from both sides of the border.

But the public it attracted was not only excited children and their parents, it also attracted the activist group known as PETA who are known worldwide for the love towards animals.

The manifestation against circuses grow every day, so much so that PETA published a list of circuses that are on tour around the united states this summer, encouraging people to show up and join the protest.

An important part of the show that Ringling Brothers have is their Elephants, the circus is famous worldwide due to these beautiful animals that dance, paint and also perform stunts.

It is because of this that several activists that follow PETA guidelines were outside of the "Valley View Casino" arena with pickets, images and pamphlets in support of the liberation of circus animals, specifically elephants asking for an animal free circus.

"Elephants are abused", "Circus animals are slaves for your entertainment" it is phrases like these that you could read along the picket lines as well as people shouting things like "Free the Elephants" and "Enjoy the cruel torture of Animals".

In Mexico these types of manifestations are common outside bull fighting spectacles, seeking that they be prohibited and considered as cruelty toward animals and not culture.

What do you think about these types of boycotts and manifestations at the entrances of events such as these?
