The Tijuana City Hall led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz successfully rescued a pair of piglets that were being illegally sold in the El Rubí neighborhood of the San Antonio de los Buenos Delegation. The operation was carried out by the Directorate of Inspection and Verification.
José Antonio Olivas Heredia, head of the department, explained that inspectors witnessed a man offering the two pigs for sale. When approached, the suspect took the animals out of his trunk, abandoned them on the street, and fled the scene. Authorities were able to secure the piglets.

Olivas Heredia reiterated Tijuana City Hall’s zero-tolerance policy toward illegal animal sales and abuse, emphasizing ongoing efforts to protect and care for animals, ensuring their well-being at all times.
It should be noted that the Directorate of Inspection and Verification conducts regular operations in areas identified as hotspots for illegal animal sales.
For the Tijuana City Hall, animal well-being is a top priority. Officials urge the public not to participate in such activities, helping to safeguard animals instead.
