This Friday, August 22, 2025, the Tijuana community will come together for a special cause: the Pizzatón in support of the Patronato del Hospital General de Tijuana, a heartfelt initiative where every slice of pizza makes a difference.
By visiting any of the participating pizzerias, you’ll not only enjoy a delicious pizza, but you’ll also be helping dozens of children and teenagers currently battling cancer. Your purchase directly contributes to ensuring that these patients and their companions have the support they need throughout treatment.
How does the Pizzatón work?
Each participating pizzeria has created a special product, with part of the proceeds benefiting the Patronato del Hospital General de Tijuana, an organization dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer patients by providing them with housing, meals, and essential treatment-related needs.
- Hornero Restaurante: Margarita Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza
- Hornero Express: Cheese Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza
- Mamamía Pizza: Pizzatón Combo
- Creato Pizza & Deli: Slices of Margarita or Pepperoni Pizza
- Tony’s Original New York Pizza: Pepperoni Pizza

More than pizza: walking alongside families
The Patronato’s mission goes beyond medical care. They ensure that each child undergoing treatment is accompanied by a loved one, providing both with lodging, meals, and vital support throughout the process.
Events like the Pizzatón help raise the resources needed to ensure treatments are not interrupted—directly increasing the patients’ chances of successin their fight against cancer.
Powered by community support
It’s important to note that the Patronato does not receive any government funding. All of its work is sustained through fundraising events like this one, and through the generosity of the community. Every pizza purchased on August 22 isn’t just food—it’s a gesture of solidarity, life, and hope.
An open invitation
Joining the Pizzatón is simple: visit one of the participating pizzerias, order the campaign’s special pizza, and with that, you’ll be helping bring hope to children and families who need it most.
