The Playas de Rosarito government, under the leadership of Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz, has renewed its commitment to promoting sports through the Municipal Sports Institute (IMDER). As part of its efforts, the city officially unveiled the 2025 Powerade Rosarito Half Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, June 22 at 7:00 am, with the start and finish line located at the famous downtown Rosarito Arch.
This year’s theme, “Magic Pacific”, aims to deliver a race like no other, combining athletic endurance with the natural splendor of the Rosarito coastline. Certified by World Athletics, the 21.0975-kilometer (13.1 miles) course winds along scenic oceanfront roads and offers hydration points, cheering zones, and medical stations at Popotla, Charly’s Place, and Fox Studios.

During the event’s presentation, IMDER General Director Francisco Xavier Carrasco Beltrán highlighted the marathon’s growing popularity. Organizers expect more than 2,500 runners, a remarkable 180% increase from last year’s numbers.
The race weekend will also feature a carbo-loading dinner on Saturday, June 21 at Festival Plaza, with artistic performances and inspiring talks to kick things off.
To ensure participant safety, the event will deploy a strong medical and logistical setup, including over 25 paramedics, medical tents every three kilometers, a fully equipped ambulance, and cardiac monitoring systems. The event will also be supported by various local and state institutions such as the Municipal DIF, IMOS Baja California, Public Safety, and Civil Protection agencies.

Organizers thanked sponsors for their support and encouraged the community to be part of this celebration, helping strengthen Rosarito’s reputation as an incredible destination for sports tourism.
