The 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito, led by Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz, has stepped up its efforts to protect, care for, and improve the health of animals across the municipality. Through the Directorate of Animal Rights and Welfare, the local government is also boosting public health by preventing diseases and promoting responsible pet population control.
Since January, officials have administered 2,944 rabies vaccines and provided flea and tick treatments, strengthening disease prevention and improving the well-being of dogs and cats in several parts of the city.

So far, these services have reached 20 neighborhoods, including Terranova, Popotla, La Bandera, El Descanso, Primo Tapia, Villa Bonita, El Arroyo, Lomas de Rosarito, Volcanes, Cumbres del Mar, Real de Rosarito, Real de Rosarito II, Misión del Mar, Caracoles, Constitución, Huacatay, Lomas Altas, Plan Libertador, and Lomas de Puerto Nuevo. By bringing care directly to residents, the city is fostering a culture of responsible pet ownership.

Municipal authorities said they maintain a year-round schedule of outreach events, which will continue visiting neighborhoods to offer free vaccinations, flea and tick treatments, and fumigations at strategic locations.
In April, the city will launch free spay and neuter campaigns. Residents are encouraged to follow official social media pages for dates, locations, and requirements.
The Directorate of Animal Rights and Welfare is also actively following up on citizen reports related to animal control, strengthening the city’s response and providing care to animals in vulnerable situations.

On the adoption front, nearly 30 responsible adoptions have been completed, giving abandoned animals a second chance and promoting dignified treatment for sentient beings.

City officials said these results reflect their commitment to working closely with the community through preventive care, direct services, and public awareness campaigns.
They acknowledged that significant challenges remain, but reiterated their dedication to coordinated action as citizen participation can create positive change in the community,
