The municipal government announced a substantial decline in crime this week, with official figures showing a 20% reduction in criminal incidents for the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period last year.

The statistics were presented by Mayor Rocío Adame during a recent Security Roundtable, which brought together officials from all three levels of government, including the Secretariat of Citizen Security, the Secretariat of the Navy, the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, the State Attorney General’s Office, the State Investigation Agency, the State Citizen Security Force, and the C5 Playas de Rosarito Security Center.

The overall 20% drop in crime is bolstered by even more dramatic decreases in specific, high-impact categories. According to the report, the city has seen a:

  • 50% reduction in violent commercial robberies.
  • 33% reduction in home burglaries.
  • 12% reduction in vehicle theft.

Authorities attribute this success to a strategy of intensified, coordinated patrols in neighborhoods with historically high crime rates, as well as around schools, homes, and businesses.

“We are achieving results thanks to the presence of our authorities on the streets. The coordinated work is paying off, so we encourage citizens to report crimes. We remain committed to working day after day to guarantee the safety of everyone,” the mayor said.

The effectiveness of this heightened security posture was demonstrated through recent operations. In one instance, an arrest warrant was executed at an automotive factory, leading to an apprehension. Security forces also recovered a stolen vehicle and located multiple long guns, magazines, and live ammunition during routine preventive patrols.

Following Mayor Rocio Adame’s directive to strengthen ties with residents, security officials recently met with neighbors in the Colinas del Sol 3 area using a mobile outreach unit to listen directly to their safety concerns.

With these combined efforts, the 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding the community, positioning crime prevention and direct action as the cornerstones of its public safety strategy.
