The Playas de Rosarito Tourism and Conventions Committee (Cotuco) closed out 2025 celebrating a year focused on professionalizing the tourism sector and positioning the city as a premier destination, both nationally and internationally.
Throughout the year, Cotuco Rosarito concentrated on promoting local events, training security and service personnel, and preparing for major occasions such as Tianguis Turístico 2025.

Cotuco Recognizes Contributions
Paul Corona, president of Cotuco Rosarito, highlighted the dedication of committee members and collaborators throughout the year. He emphasized that the active participation of all council members was crucial to achieving the committee’s objectives. Looking ahead to 2026, Corona said the committee will continue implementing its annual operational plan to advance key goals and initiatives.
Expanding Tourism Offerings
The committee also focused on encouraging visitors to extend their stays in Rosarito, converting transit tourists into overnight or long-stay travelers. Cotuco maintained strong communication with local, regional, national, and international media to promote events and highlight the city’s tourism assets. Joint efforts included developing a tourism inventory to diversify offerings and consolidate new tourism districts.

2025 Highlights
Key events organized and promoted by Cotuco Rosarito included:
- Rosarito Restaurant Week 2025, featuring over 30 restaurants and the launch of the Yumsy app.
- Art Walk Rosarito 2025, showcasing local talent and cultural tourism.
- Paseo Ciclista Diana Hayton 40K, Fire Run & Challenge 5K, and Noche Blanca BC, promoting fitness, culture, and charity causes.
- Rosarito Wine Fest 2025, featuring 20 wineries and 20 regional chefs.
Training and Safety Initiatives
Cotuco implemented programs to ensure quality and safety across the tourism sector, including:
- Intensive police training focused on tourist service.
- Workshops for taxi drivers on safety protocols and customer service.
- Securing the National Tourism Quality Bronze Distinction for Playas de Rosarito.
- Strategic agreements to combat human trafficking and promote accessible tourism.

National and International Promotion
Rosarito’s tourism offerings were promoted through several initiatives:
- Participation in “Punto México” in Mexico City, highlighting Kumiai culture and gastronomy.
- Presentations in San Diego at “La Corriente La Jolla” and “Ventana a México.”
- Attendance at IBTM Américas 2025 to attract conventions.
- Promotional tours in Las Vegas targeting U.S. travel agencies.
- Presence at the Caribbean Series Fan Fest in Mexicali.
Strategic Partnerships
Cotuco strengthened ties across sectors through agreements with Baja California Center, real estate organizations, local fire departments, and cultural institutions to promote safety, tourism infrastructure, and cultural heritage.
