The Vatican recognized a second miracle of John Paul II, and will now declare him as a saint. The announcement came today after Pope Francisco had issued a decree recognizing the action.

The Congregation had also reached such a conclusion in the middle of this week.

This second miracle is said to have taken place on May 1, 2001, where a woman in Costa Rica, who had a brain aneurysm, was healed. Previously, John Paul II was also responsible for the healing of a French nun who suffered from Parkinson's disease.

John Paul II served as the leader of Catholic Church from 1978 to 2005. So far, no date has been revealed for the canonization ceremonies but it is expected that it will be at the end of this year.
