The Expo Comida Latina has been held every August since 2002 in Southern California. This year, the expo is occurring Sunday through Tuesday at the San Diego Convention Center in combination with the http://www.westernfoodexpo.com/
Both conventions are expected to draw 10,000 people, including vendors, chefs and visitors. The Expo Comida Latina "is the platform that showcases the trends in the Latino food industry," said spokeswoman Liz Plizga.
The convention is for people and companies working in the food industry, from chefs to supermarkets to restaurants.
More than 75 percent of the vendors at the Expo Comida Latina will present new products, with many of them pitching them from kitchens where chefs will be preparing dishes and beverages.
The expo is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Admission is $60 per person and the event is open to professionals from the food industry. More information is available at expocomidalatina.com
