GUERRERO.- The Catholic Church in the State of Guerrero received yet another hard blow, given that yesterday, active member of the Tierra Caliente community (close to Iguala) priest Gregorio Lopez Gorrostieta, known as father Goyito, was found dead.

His passing was announced on Facebook by the Diocese and Cathedral of the City of Altamirano, who confirmed that the priest´s body was found on colonia Benito Juarez in Tlapehuala, along the Iguala highway, with a "coup de grace" to the head after being kidnaped from the seminary where he teached.

The Mexican Episcopate Conference said through a statement:

"On behalf of many mexicans, we shout again: Enough! No more blood! No more deaths! No more disappearances. We demand that the authorities explain this crimes and others that have caused so much pain to so many homes in our country, and that those who are guilty are punished."

Was he murdered for talking about the 43 missing students in Ayotzinapa?

"El Universal" quotes Apatzingan priest, Gregorio López Gerónimo, who personally knew his name same "Goyito", saying that he "accused these criminals on his sermon on December 21st regarding the 43 missing students of Ayotzinapa, however in this abominable case, the Catholic Church will keep raising its voice and reporting any despotism and outrage against fundamental rights."

He continue saying that organized crime hasn't been able to corrupt the church, same reason why said crime has been attacking them over the past few months, once they saw that they were raising their voice.

This year alone, three priests have been murdered thanks to organized crime in Guerrero, such was the case of John Ssenyondo, from Uganda, who disappeard and was later found dead after officiating mass in Chilapa. Another case was the one of Ascencio Acuña Osorio, who was murdered in San Miguel Totolapan.

This add ups,

to the disappearances, threats and extortions even for sermons that don't mention organized crime, like in the case of a priest who was kidnapped because he preached in favor of family, but hit mans thought he was talking about the "Familia de Michoacan" (Michoacan Family).

All of this has happened, even with the new National Gendarmerie that the federal government has taken upon in the star.
