The City Hall led by Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali, together with the Public Safety Citizens’ Committee and local deputy Jorge Ramos, carried out the installation of new lighting in the Ángeles de Puebla neighborhood park as part of the “Lighting Up Pueblas” initiative.

“I am convinced that by working together—government and society—we can make Mexicali a place where everyone can live in peace. That is why I thank José Ángel Zaizar, President of the Mexicali Public Safety Citizens’ Committee, and everyone who has collaborated to transform our public spaces,” the mayor said.

She also noted that the Mexicali City Hall provided support to install lighting, while the Citizens’ Committee and Deputy Jorge Ramos contributed the necessary materials.

Meanwhile, José Ángel Zaizar emphasized that a well-lit street or park reduces crime rates by 25%, which is why the program’s goal is to illuminate 20 public spaces.

The event was also attended by Federal Deputy Armando Samaniego; City Hall Senior Official Claudia Beltrán; Director of Public Services Juan Francisco Garza; and Cabinet Coordinator Víctor Delgado.
