Under the leadership of Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, the government of Tijuana has carried out three major initiatives aimed at transforming the city through functional roads and dignified public spaces for all residents.
The mayor visited El Refugio in La Presa Este to kick off the pothole repair and asphalt resurfacing project along Paseo Magnolias, benefiting over 31,000 residents.
Addressing local residents, the mayor stated:
“This is a heavily traveled road where we will be rehabilitating 21,817 square meters, with an investment of 15.668 million pesos from the city’s own funds.”

During the project launch, he thanked State Deputy Araceli Geraldo for her support in securing the budget required, highlighting the importance of coordination and teamwork between local and state governments.
Meanwhile, Minerva Flores Camacho, principal of Felipe Ángeles Technical Secondary School No. 46, presented the mayor with a certificate of recognition for his support of the community and the more than 1,200 students at this school, who will also benefit from this project.
Later, Mayor Ismael Burgueño of Tijuana visited Villa del Campo in La Presa Este to oversee the start of pothole and asphalt repairs on Paseo del Campo, the neighborhood’s main access road.

“This project covers 34,937 square meters, with an investment of 14.791 million pesos from city funds, benefiting over 40,000 residents of Villa del Campo, Villa del Campo Second Section, Parajes del Valle, and La Herradura de Oro.”
Claudia, a longtime resident, shared with the mayor that in her 17 years living in Villa del Campo, this was the first time she had witnessed a project on this scale, expressing gratitude for the improvements to a road used by thousands daily.
Finally, the mayor visited Misión de las Californias in the Cerro Colorado delegation, where he inspected the ‘Tijuana, Clean City’ program’s progress at the park in Fray Junípero Serra Street.
Speaking with residents, the mayor emphasized:
“We are here to listen and see what more can be done to improve living conditions in this community. Hearing directly from residents strengthens our daily efforts across all delegations.”

At this park, 6 tons of trash were collected, 10 new trees were planted, streetlights were repaired, graffiti was removed, accessible paths were repainted, and much more was carried out, all for the benefit of more than 6,500 people.
Through these projects, City Hall reaffirms its commitment to revitalizing public spaces, improving urban mobility, and listening to community needs to build a cleaner, more orderly city.
Mayor Burgueño of Tijuana was accompanied by Virginia Vargas González, head of the Urban and Environmental Development Department; Adriana Barrera, Acting Delegation Coordinator; Rosa García Zamarripa, Cerro Colorado Delegation Representative, and Joaquín Sandoval, Acting La Presa Este Delegation Representative.
