Soccer fanatics take note: One of the world's premier teams, Real Madrid, will be bringing most of its stellar roster for the game against Chivas de Guadalajara on July 20 at Qualcomm Stadium.
The list includes renowned players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, Kaka and Karim Benzema, among others. They will play a friendly match at Qualcomm Stadium as part of a tour across the United States.
Real Madrid announced last week that two of its stars Argentineans Ángel di Maria and Gonzalo Higuaín – will not be traveling with the team since they will be participating in the la Copa América tournament.
For its part, Chivas has not announced what players the team will be bringing to San Diego. Much will depend on how Mexico's U-22 team fares in the Copa América tournament, since many on that squad play for Chivas.
In addition to the game in San Diego, "el Madrid" will square off against the MLS teams Los Angeles Galaxy at Memorial Coliseum on July 16 and the Philadelphia Union at Lincoln Financial Field on July 23.
The Spanish team will be bringing:
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas, Antonio Adan.
Defenders: Ricardo Carvalho, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Alvaro Arbeloa, Raul Albiol, Ezequiel Garay, David Mateos.
Midfielders: Mesut Ozil, Kaka, Fernando Gago, Xabi Alonso, Lassana Diarra, Sami Khedira, Hamit Altintop, Pedro Leon, Sergio Canales, Nuri Sahin, Jose Callejon, Roysten Drenthe.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Esteban Granero.
