Red light continues: Baja California surpasses 16 thousand coronavirus infections

The Secretary of Health of Baja California, Alonso Perez Rico, informed this Monday morning, August 24, that the state continues to be red on the epidemiological traffic light chart by totaling 16 thousand and 82 positive COVID-19 cases.

According to Perez Rico, the top three most affected counties continue to be (in that order): Mexicali, Tijuana and Ensenada.

Counties that have also registered the highest number of deaths in the state due to the current virus, which add up to 3 thousand and 27 in the region.

Unfortunately, of the 472 cases that are still active and that are preventing the pandemic from ending, the majority are located in Mexicali, following Tijuana and in third place Ensenada.

Among the good news, at least 9 thousand 190 Baja California natives have managed to recover from this virus, and these three counties have seen their patients win the battle the most.
