Julio Ramírez, guitarist for the band Reik, is expanding his creative pursuits from music to cuisine with plans to open “La Jollita,” a new seafood restaurant in San Diego’s La Jolla neighborhood. The establishment will feature fresh seafood sourced directly from Ensenada, Mexico.
Located at 1251 Prospect Street, the restaurant is a collaboration between Ramírez and several business partners who share a passion for authentic Baja flavors. Their goal is to bring the essence of Ensenada’s seafood across the border. “Mexico’s best seafood will be coming to San Diego,” Ramírez announced on social media.
Early previews reveal a coastal-inspired interior featuring nautical touches such as a suspended fishing boat and a vibrant palette of blues, oranges, and yellows that evoke the spirit of the Pacific. The design blends Ensenada’s seaside warmth with a fresh, contemporary California aesthetic.
While an official opening date has not yet been confirmed, Ramírez has hinted that La Jollita will begin welcoming guests in early November.
