Under the direction of Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, the government of Tijuana, through the Department of Territorial, Urban, and Environmental Development (SDTUA), has announced repair work on a sinkhole located on Calle Del Agua in the Playa Diamante neighborhood of the Playas de Tijuana delegation.
The repairs are being conducted by the Municipal Directorate of Urban Works and Infrastructure (DOIUM) to ensure road safety and preserve the area’s infrastructure.

The repairs consist of demolishing the affected area, stabilizing the ground with backfill and compaction, pouring and curing concrete, and performing a final cleanup. A leaning utility pole that presents a safety risk to pedestrians and drivers will also be removed.
Repair work has been underway from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. since Monday, June 23, and is expected to be completed within the next few weeks.

Partial road closures will be in place due to machinery and material movement. However, traffic controllers will be on-site to manage alternating traffic flow and ensure safety.
City Hall recommends that residents allow extra travel time and follow the directions of on-site personnel to avoid delays.
