SAN DIEGO, CA.- FIFA international play has brought on some much needed rest for the Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuitles, except for two key players. Defender Pablo Cesar Aguilar and midfielder Joe Benny Corona have been selected to represent Paraguay and the United States men’s national team respectfully.

Pablo Aguilar remained in South America after the Xolos’ 3-0 loss to Brazilian Corinthians is Sao Paolo. Aguilar will be with the Uruguayan national team when they face this Friday, March 22 Paraguay and again on Tuesday, March 26 when Paraguay visits Chile.

Paraguay is currently sitting in 5th place of the South American table, tied in points with Venezuela but a lesser goal difference. If finished in 5th place; Paraguay would move on to a World Cup qualifying home/away series against a representative of Asia.

Joe Corona will join the USMNT for their fixtures against Costa Rica and Mexico. On Friday, March 22 Corona and USMNT will host Costa Rica, and on Tuesday, March 22 they’ll travel to Mexico City to face ‘El Tri’.

After one game played the USMNT are in last place with zero points, following a 2-1 loss to Honduras in the opening round.
