Yet again, El Tigre Bar brings one of those musical rarities to the city of Tijuana. In a very intimate and emotional performance, Ripe Red Apple delighted everyone in the venue with their musical style and prowess.

Ripe Red Apple's sound brings back the most basic and primitive of blues and rock & roll. With an hypnotizing voice, almost mermaid like, lead singer Gaia captivates your attention, making everything else in the room, except for the sound of the guitar, disappear. Gaia and Gonzalo are the two members of Ripe Red Apple. This couple has been making music for about five years and you can tell that it's music that brought them together. So I asked them exactly about that. Back in Chile, Gonzalo used to be a street musician. One day while playing on the street he met Gaia. Little time after that Gaia started singing with him. They fell in love, got married and started making music together. They played everywhere, and when I say that I really mean it. From playing in the street, seedy bars, cafés, anywhere that would allow their music to come through. After two years they decided to move to California. Here they recorded their first record.

Ripe Red Apple, in Gaias words, makes reference to the Adam and Eve story from the Bible. "The apple was almost like Pandora's box, something that gave us knowledge, that opened our eyes. Not just to the beautiful things in life but also the bad. And even though I'm not a religious person I can appreciate what Eve did for us".

The band is currently living in San Diego, California and are planing on recording a new EP. Although they did record an album, copies of it are really difficult to get because of the limited print. Never the less you can get their music on the band's facebook or on reverberation.
