Rosarito Athletes to Represent Mexico at 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay

Baja California's commitment to youth sports continues to pay off: four Rosarito athletes are set to compete for Mexico on the continental stage.

Mayor Rocío Adame extended her heartfelt congratulations to Fernanda Elizondo, Maximiliano Vega, David Medina, and José Alberto Cano, four young athletes from Rosarito selected to represent Mexico at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay.

Trained through the Rosarito Nadadores A.C. program at the Rosarito Aquatic Center, these talented athletes exemplify discipline, hard work, and dedication. Beyond their achievements in sports, all four have earned academic scholarships to prestigious international universities, including Yale and Texas A&M, making them true role models in athletics and academics.

The students’ commitment, dedication, and accomplishments were publicly recognized on behalf of Mayor Rocío Adame and Francisco Carrasco, Director of the Municipal Sports Institute (IMDER).

Before their departure, Rosarito’s City Administrator, José Luis Alcalá Murillo, met with the athletes to reaffirm the City Hall’s full support and convey the pride felt by the entire Rosarito community for their remarkable achievements.

“Fernanda, Maximiliano, David, and José Alberto are Rosarito’s pride. They are living proof that with discipline, passion, and perseverance, our youth can achieve extraordinary goals. We wish them the greatest success,” Alcalá Murillo said.

The Playas de Rosarito City Hall remains committed to fostering young sports talent, promoting comprehensive training programs that support student-athletes and continue to elevate the municipality’s reputation.
