The Rosarito delegation wrapped up its participation at Tianguis Turístico México with tangible wins in promotion, strategic partnerships, and economic development, boosting the destination’s visibility in both domestic and international markets.
Led by Secretary of Economic Development and Tourism, Irán Leonardo Verdugo, by instructions from Mayor María del Rocío Adame Muñoz, the delegation included SEDETUR, COTUCO Rosarito, and key hotel representatives from Hotel Rosarito Beach, Hotel Festival Plaza, and Las Rocas Resort & Spa.

Over the course of the event, the team secured:
- 92 business meetings with tour operators, travel agencies, and suppliers
- 3 signed commercial agreements
- 5 potential site inspections
- 3 familiarization trips (Fam Trips) currently in development
These achievements are set to expand the destination’s commercial reach and attract new tourism segments.
On the networking front, Rosarito forged valuable connections with destinations such as Michoacán, Durango, and Zacatecas to share strategic insights and ramp up promotion aimed at Mexican communities living abroad especially in Southern California.

Meanwhile, alliances with tourist hotspots like Los Cabos, Puebla, and Puerto Vallarta were further strengthened, paving the way for joint marketing initiatives that boost regional competitiveness.
In the MICE sector, a meeting with Eduardo Chaillo opened new doors for attracting specialized congresses, conventions, and events to Rosarito.

On the promotional side, the spotlight fell on the renowned gastronomy of Puerto Nuevo and the community tourism routes of El Médano and Cañón Rosarito. These efforts underscore the destination’s growing and diverse appeal.
Adding to the momentum, Las Rocas Resort & Spa received a special recognition from the Shaya: Mujeres Viajeras initiative, further raising Rosarito’s profile within niche travel segments.

At the same time, the delegation made headway in coordinating with FONATUR to push forward strategic projects aimed at developing tourism infrastructure.
“The results we’ve achieved are no accident. They’re the product of a clear strategy: build alliances, open new markets, and position Rosarito as a competitive destination on the national and international stage,” said Secretary Verdugo.

These advances are part of a broader vision to establish Baja California as a globally competitive tourism hub where Playas de Rosarito plays a strategic role within the Tijuana–Rosarito–Ensenada coastal corridor.
Through these concrete actions, Rosarito is not only strengthening its standing but also increasing its tourism projection and attracting investment for the destination’s sustainable development.
