The Rosarito government, under Mayor Rocío Adame, is taking its services on the road with a new community outreach program, aiming to directly address the needs of residents and improve their quality of life.

This well-being campaign recently held its latest event in the Plan Libertador neighborhood. The program embodies Mayor Adame’s governing philosophy of “less desk work and more time in the field,” focusing on direct engagement with citizens.

Representing the mayor, Municipal Well-Being Secretary Juan José Rangel Trujillo led the event, which provided a range of social services. These included the distribution of basic food baskets and a direct line for residents to get updates on longstanding requests concerning issues related to paving, public lighting, heavy trash collection, transportation, and security.

“The issue of street paving is important, as is having recreational spaces. They are listening to us and addressing our concerns,” one neighborhood resident said.

According to the Secretary of Well-Being, the event successfully identified and triggered action on several key issues for the Plan Libertador community. He confirmed that maintenance for local roadways and the replacement of faulty streetlights are now officially in the works. Furthermore, coordination is underway with Public Services to manage the collection of heavy trash and to clean a clogged sand trap in the area.

In response to security concerns, the city will reinforce police patrols during dismissal times at a local high school to protect students and pedestrians. Additional reports regarding a hazardous, encroached-upon lot and requests for improved public transportation were also formally logged and channeled to the appropriate departments.

Mayor Rocío Adame reiterated her commitment to having an active government close to the people:

“It is our duty to go, walk, and talk with communities, to carry out the work they request. We will continue to do so with constancy, organization, and commitment,” the mayor said.
