The Rosarito City Hall, led by Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz, has announced the recognition of four major local festivities as Cultural Heritage of the State of Baja California.
The celebrated traditions now bearing the official title are “Rodeo,” “Vaquería y Vaqueridad,” “Fiesta en la Misión,” and “Fiesta de las Fronteras.” The distinction formally acknowledges the profound historical, cultural, and communal value these events hold for the residents of Rosarito.
These celebrations are cornerstones of the municipality’s identity as they have been preserved through the years by the active participation of families, local associations, and communities dedicated to keeping these cultural expressions alive.

Mayor Rocío Adame highlighted the significance of the designation, emphasizing that these festivities are a vital cultural inheritance that reinforces the community’s sense of belonging.
“I am filled with pride to share this recognition of the traditions and identity of the people of Rosarito,” the mayor stated.
She further explained that Rodeo, Vaquería y Vaqueridad, Fiesta en la Misión, and Fiesta de las Fronteras are deeply woven into the history and roots of the municipality. Officially recognizing them as cultural heritage is a key step in preserving these celebrations for future generations.

Beyond their historical value, the mayor noted that these events showcase the cultural richness of Playas de Rosarito and embody the strong community spirit of its inhabitants, who proudly participate in them each year.
