To strengthen transparency and enhance security operations, the government of Rosarito, under the leadership of Mayor Rocio Adame and in coordination with Héctor Manzo Ruvalcaba, head of the local Department of Citizen Security, has launched a new body camera program for law enforcement.
This initiative marks a major step forward in surveillance and accountability, combining state-of-the-art technology with secure data storage to help build greater public confidence in local security institutions. It is an unprecedented measure that improves police work while fostering stronger community trust.
The program was officially introduced during the 2025 Tianguis Turístico, when Rosarito hosted the event. A pilot phase allowed officers to test the equipment and become familiar with its use. After a successful trial, the Municipal Police are now fully trained and equipped to operate the body cameras in the field.
These body cameras are designed to record high-quality video and audio, even in low-light conditions, ensuring accurate and objective documentation of incidents. Additionally, their presence encourages more respectful interactions between citizens and law enforcement.
In its first phase, the program has deployed 20 body cameras, strategically assigned to the Traffic Division and Tourist Police. The investment totals $1,425,600 pesos, allocated to strengthening police operations and improving public service.
The cameras feature state-of-the-art technology and are integrated with specialized platforms that enable secure data backup, management, and storage. This ensures the integrity of recorded information and allows real-time monitoring for oversight and operational purposes.
With this initiative, the government of Playas de Rosarito reaffirms its commitment to a modern, professional, and community-oriented police force that operates with accountability and legality.
