The Playas de Rosarito government has successfully reclaimed a 52-hectare parcel of public land that had been under unauthorized occupation since March 2023.
The recovery, finalized on September 24, marks a victory for Mayor Rocío Adame’s administration, which has prioritized the protection of public assets. The restitution was the result of a coordinated legal effort between the city’s Legal Counsel and the State Attorney General’s Office.
The land had been improperly occupied by unauthorized individuals; therefore, a criminal complaint for illegal dispossession was filed against the unnamed occupants. The successful operation highlights the mayor’s strategy of leveraging interagency collaboration to reclaim public spaces.
“This space legally belongs to the people of Playas de Rosarito. Our authorities conducted thorough investigations and acted within the framework of the law to ensure its return. This action underscores our commitment to generating justice and combating impunity,” the mayor said.
With these actions, the Playas de Rosarito government reinforces its commitment to justice, legality, and the protection of municipal assets, highlighting interinstitutional coordination as key to rescuing spaces that belong to all citizens.
