Rosarito held its first Sexual Diversity Services Event, a new initiative aimed at expanding access to services for LGBTQ+ residents and promoting greater inclusion across the city.
The event was organized by Mayor Rocío Adame’s administration through a partnership between the municipal Department of Well-Being and Baja California’s Department of Social Inclusion.
“Inclusion is a fundamental value and a permanent task of the government,” said José Luis Alcalá Murillo, the city’s Secretary General, who attended on behalf of the mayor. He said the administration is committed to ensuring that “all people in Rosarito live in conditions of equality and well-being.”
Kassandra Gámez, the city’s director of Diversity and Social Inclusion, stressed the need to create more spaces for the LGBTIQ+ community and to strengthen access to public services “from a human rights perspective.”

Juan José Rangel Trujillo, Rosarito’s Secretary of Social Well-Being, and State Secretary of Social Inclusion Belinda Rodríguez Moreno also spoke at the event, calling it a meaningful step toward a more equal community.
Attendees accessed services including medical care, sexual health workshops, informational guidance, and support stations run by local and state agencies. Officials described the event as part of an ongoing effort to work with the community “without taboos and with total respect.”
“Important projects are coming next year, including PRIDE, and we are open to continuing to work alongside the community and the Directorate of Inclusion,” Rangel Trujillo said.
City officials said the event reflects Rosarito’s broader push to make the municipality a safer, more respectful place for everyone.
