Rosarito Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz led the “Gathering for the Well-Being of Women,” an initiative designed to provide direct economic aid to female residents and acknowledge their vital role in the community.
The event, organized by the 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito, saw the distribution of 128 financial grants, each worth 2,000 pesos. The funds are part of a broader municipal strategy to foster equal opportunities and promote the comprehensive development of women in the region.

During her keynote address, Mayor Rocío Adame paid tribute to the generations of women who have fought for their rights.

“They did not teach us to stay silent, they taught us to struggle. I thank all the women who accompany us today; there are great women with great stories and great battles. It is important to recognize this, because behind every woman there is a story that has often transformed our country,” the mayor said.

Irami Cortez de los Ángeles, Director of the Municipal Women’s Institute (IMMUJER), welcomed the attendees and framed the event as a space for recognition and honor for the women of Playas de Rosarito.
“This is a space created especially to care for and honor the women of this municipality while celebrating March 8th and Women’s Month,” Cortez de los Ángeles explained. “Each support you receive today is also a message that ensures the backing of the 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito.”

The Secretariat of Social Well-Being distributed 40 grants, while the Secretariat of Tourism and Economic Development provided 43. An additional 15 supports were delivered by the Municipal DIF, and 30 were allocated through the office of the councilwoman leading the Gender Equality and Human Rights Commission.

The gathering was attended by Councilwoman Yannett Sepúlveda Carreón, DIF Board President Aziel E. Adame, Tourism Secretary Irán Leonardo Verdugo Contreras, and Social Well-Being Secretary Juan José Rangel Trujillo, Gina Villalobos González from the Bar Association of Women Lawyers Leaders of Baja California, and Irami Cortez de los Ángeles, Director of IMMUJER, underscoring the community-wide commitment to gender equality.
With this delivery of support, the municipal government reaffirms its dedication to public policies that prioritize the well-being and empowerment of the women of Playas de Rosarito, recognizing their fundamental role in forging a more just and equitable society.
