In an effort to strengthen the city’s environmental policy, Playas de Rosarito Mayor Rocío Adame has called on the municipal Department of Environmental Protection to maintain and expand initiatives focused on ecological conservation, responsible use of natural resources, and fostering a civic culture that values environmental stewardship.

The department is currently developing a territorial and environmental assessment aimed at identifying the municipality’s most pressing challenges, including soil, water, and air pollution; integrated waste management; biodiversity protection; and climate adaptation.

She reiterated her intention to deepen collaboration with civil society groups, environmental advocates, academic institutions, business chambers, and local media to build a cleaner and more sustainable Rosarito.

“We are working comprehensively to protect the environment and improve quality of life for our community. We want every sector to be part of this effort because caring for our surroundings is a shared responsibility,” the mayor said.

City officials noted that the 10th Municipal Administration is advancing the implementation of practical and effective environmental public policies that not only address technical needs but also promote public participation and awareness around the importance of a healthy environment.
