Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz of Rosarito has pledged to strengthen protections for children and teenagers, emphasizing that the city is a key ally in creating safe and inclusive environments for youth development.
The commitment was made during her participation in the “Border of Dreams: Culture, Play, and Rights” festival, an event held at the Tijuana Cultural Center to mark 10 years since the creation of the Federal Attorney’s Office for the Protection of Girls, Boys and Teenagers.

The festival, which featured educational games and dance performances by local schools, served as a platform for federal, state, and municipal authorities to showcase their joint efforts to safeguard children’s and teenagers’ rights.
The mayor highlighted the ongoing coordination between different levels of government, aiming to position Rosarito as a city committed to the right to family life, health, education, and the comprehensive development of every child, along with the work carried out by the Federal Attorney for the Protection of Girls, Boys, and Teenagers.

“It is important to reaffirm the commitment we have to our girls and boys. I always like to reiterate: they are the present and future of our country, our state, and Playas de Rosarito. We will continue working as we have been to guarantee the exercise of their rights. We are working very closely with the federal and state governments to ensure that children are happy and fulfilled,” Mayor Rocío Adame stated.
Echoing this sentiment, the Federal Attorney for the Protection of Girls, Boys, and Teenagers, Fabiola María Salas Ambriz, stressed the national priority placed on youth. She noted that instructions by President Claudia Sheinbaum call for permanent coordination to protect children, who are at the center of our nation’s transformation.

“From the Attorney’s Office for the Protection of Girls, Boys, and Teenagers, we celebrate that everyone is here today; all of this is for you, for your enjoyment. We are focused on ensuring you can learn about each of your rights, and that we, as authorities, remain committed to this great work of guaranteeing you a good childhood,” she said.
The event was also attended by Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, Governor of Baja California; María del Rocío García Pérez, Head of the National DIF System; Mavis Olmeda García, Head of DIF Baja California; Irma Martínez Manríquez, Minister of Education of Baja California; and Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, Mayor of Tijuana.
