Mayor Rocío Adame of Playas de Rosarito, alongside Irami Cortez de los Ángeles, Director of the Municipal Women’s Institute, presided over the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed liaisons for the Gender Violence Alert Against Women (AVGM). The event underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to addressing and eliminating all forms of violence against women through institutional action.
In the Forjadores Room at City Hall, public servants from several departments took their oaths as official liaisons, pledging to integrate a gender perspective, promote substantive equality, and ensure the implementation of protective measures in their respective areas.
“We cannot allow any woman in Rosarito to live in fear. Every government action must be directed toward protecting and empowering them,” the mayor said during her speech, while emphasizing the importance of institutions recognizing gender-based violence and acting with determination, professionalism, and sensitivity.
Meanwhile, the Director of IMMUJER, Irami Cortez, highlighted that liaisons will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and implementing public policies centered on human rights, inclusion, and equity.
“This is not just an appointment—it is a daily commitment to institutional transformation,” she stressed.
The head of the Department for Gender Perspective Institutionalization of Baja California Women’s Institute, who outlined the roles and responsibilities of the gender liaisons, was also present at the event.
Through this symbolic and operational act, the Playas de Rosarito City Hall reaffirms its commitment to building a safer, more equitable, and violence-free municipality for all women and girls in Rosarito.
