Playas de Rosarito says it’s ready for the busy travel seasons ahead, with local officials rolling out plans aimed at keeping visitors safe while supporting the city’s tourism-driven economy.
Mayor Rocío Adame said the coastal city is already seeing strong activity, particularly on weekends, when large numbers of domestic travelers from across Baja California fill restaurants, hotels and beaches. That steady stream of visitors, she said, is what keeps local businesses thriving.
With peak periods such as Easter Week and summer vacation approaching, city officials say they are focusing on planning and coordination to manage the expected crowds. The municipal government has been working closely with business owners to help ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for families and tourists.

On the security front, local authorities have increased coordination with state and federal agencies. Through the city’s Department of Citizen Security, patrols and monitoring have been stepped up in key tourist areas in an effort to maintain order and provide reassurance to both residents and visitors.
City leaders also pointed to positive economic indicators. According to data from Mexico’s central bank, family remittances rose by about 28% in 2025 compared with the previous year, injecting additional spending power into the local economy.

Adame said her administration’s goal is to keep strengthening Rosarito’s reputation as a lively and secure destination.
“We want Playas de Rosarito to be a place where families can relax, visitors feel welcome and our local economy continues to grow,” she said.
