The Playas de Rosarito government, led by Mayor Rocío Adame, has reinforced its commitment to youth development through the arts with Tuesday’s presentation of “Jardín de Cartas Rotas,” a collection showcasing the work of 29 local young writers.
The mayor highlighted the publication as part of the city’s ongoing investment in cultural and educational programs for the youth. The anthology features short stories, reflections, and personal narratives from participants in the Rosarito Literary Creation and Publishing Workshop, based at CECYTE Rosarito.

The event drew educational officials, faculty members, and families to celebrate the young authors (16 are students and the remainder, alumni). Among the distinguished attendees were Acting Secretary of Welfare and Social Development Juan José Rangel, CECYTE Rosarito Director Jacqueline Mariza Solís Laredo Hernández, and teachers Adolfo Morales Moncada and Consuelo Guadalupe Bojórquez Soberanes.
“It is of utmost importance to invest in the culture and education of new generations, who dare to write, imagine, and believe in themselves. Words are power, and writing is resistance against oblivion,” the mayor said.

The publishing workshop, established in 2019, has now produced four volumes of works by Rosarito students. The Rosarito government emphasized its intention to maintain these creative spaces, which provide outlets for artistic expression and help develop local talent.
The mayor also reaffirmed her administration’s support for educational and cultural initiatives, stating:
“Betting on culture means betting on transformation. We are convinced that through education, art, and identity, we build stronger, more liberated communities.”
