Mayor María del Rocío Adame Muñoz is deepening her support for animal well-being and public participation in Playas de Rosarito. To help local pet owners, the Municipal Health Department, headed by Francisco Guzmán, is offering free deworming for cats and dogs at the Animal Well-Being Clinic, located at Calle Jesús Leyva Torres #195, Col. Ampliación Benito Juárez (ZIP 22710), from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Deworming is a simple yet essential procedure to protect the health of our pets and our families: a liquid is applied to the back of the animal’s neck, effectively combating both internal and external parasites. This helps eliminate fleas and ticks, which are vectors for serious diseases such as rickettsia, a public health risk.

Rickettsia is primarily transmitted through the bite of infected ticks and can affect both animals and humans. Therefore, keeping our pets free of these parasites is a key preventive measure and these efforts are part of a comprehensive control and prevention strategy aimed at reducing the risk of transmission in communities.

In addition to deworming, it is crucial for people to keep their yards and common areas clean and free of weeds to prevent ticks from finding a suitable environment to reproduce. Everyone’s cooperation is essential in creating a healthier and safer environment.

The Playas de Rosarito City Hall reiterates its invitation to the public to actively participate in this campaign, reminding everyone that prevention is the best tool to combat diseases like rickettsia.
