Playas de Rosarito is witnessing a significant downturn in crime rates, according to a report presented at the latest Security Roundtable. Mayor Rocío Adame, who led the meeting, highlighted substantial progress in public safety for the period from January to October 2025, crediting enhanced inter-agency coordination and community engagement.
The operational successes were credited to a unified effort between local, state, and federal authorities. Key achievements presented at the meeting included:
- The National Guard assisted in arrests, seized narcotics, and recovered a stolen vehicle.
- The State Attorney General’s Office reported a continuing downward trend in homicides and reinforced actions against vehicle and commercial theft.
- The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) seized multiple stolen vehicles and apprehended one suspect for property damage.

Data from the Coordination Board for Peace Building revealed dramatic reductions in key crime categories in Playas de Rosarito compared to the same period (January-October) last year:
- Street robbery: -53.9%
- Home invasion robbery: -45.5%
- Drug trafficking: -42.2%
- Property crimes: -40.6%
While vehicle theft remains a persistent challenge, it also saw a 12.2% decline. Officials reported that this trend has led to more targeted monitoring of criminal patterns by neighborhood and time of day. A 12.5% reduction in domestic violence was also noted, partly attributed to the promotion of the “smart button” emergency system and a growing public willingness to report incidents.
Security forces have also intensified patrols in strategic areas. These include neighborhoods like Ampliación Plan Libertador, Real de Rosarito, Herradura, and Benito Juárez, as well as major transit routes such as Benito Juárez and El Mangle Boulevards,
Likewise, surveillance patrols were reported in the territorial limits with Tijuana, particularly on Boulevard 2000 and the Tijuana-Rosarito Free Highway, at the level of Plan Libertador, with the reinforcement of police presence in strategic areas.

Additional operations have been deployed to ensure public safety at the Convention Center, shops, banks, ATMs, cemeteries, and pedestrian bridges. The city has also reinforced its school operations program, providing surveillance and a visible police presence at educational institutions to build trust with students and families.
“We all build security together. With the active participation of institutions and people’s trust, Rosarito continues to advance and achieve real results. We will not let our guard down and we will continue working for the peace and well-being of our people,” the mayor said.
The 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito reaffirmed that through these coordinated actions, it remains committed to strengthening security and ensuring the peace of mind for all Rosarito natives.
