The 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito, led by Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz, has held its first meeting with members of the Association of Hosts and Tour Operators of Baja California (AATOP BC) in an effort to strengthen the promotion of the municipality as a strategic tourist destination.
The meeting, which also included Secretary of Economic Development and Tourism Iran Leonardo Verdugo and COTUCO Director Saúl Álvarez Rojas, established the groundwork for coordinated work with the sector. The association is considered a key ally in the effective marketing of tourist destinations.
Municipal authorities aim to position Playas de Rosarito as a priority stop along Baja California’s tourist routes. To achieve this, they plan to integrate complete travel experiences that include hiking, cultural tourism, gastronomy, community tourism, and guided tours led by trained personnel.

Regarding security, AATOP BC representatives positively noted the changes seen since the current municipal administration took office, pointing to improved conditions for tourism development. Both sides agreed that this progress strengthens the confidence of visitors and tour operators, while also boosting the destination’s appeal and market competitiveness.
Mayor Rocío Adame highlighted the potential of the municipality’s rural areas and stressed the need to continue improving access roads, signage, and tourist infrastructure. She also emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination with the Tourist Police to provide comprehensive support to visitors.

This initial meeting marks the beginning of a permanent collaboration between City Hall and tour operators. Plans include formalizing a partnership agreement focused on training local tour guides. The goal is to develop hosts and ambassadors for the destination, enhance the quality of the visitor experience, and help integrate tour packages and guided visits.
