A new approach to learning and understanding art is coming to Rosarito with the 16th edition of the Festival 4×4: “Where Does Territory Begin?”
The festival, scheduled for December 1–7, will take place at the State Center for the Arts (CEART) in Playas de Rosarito, designated as the Pacific North Arts and Humanities venue. Organizers describe the event as an invitation to rethink how knowledge is produced through artistic practices, reflection, and movement.
“The Festival 4×4 aims to integrate new ways of thinking, feeling, and imagining the world,” organizers said. “Our goal is to build a space where the body, choreography, and the city function as sensitive containers that generate knowledge, thought, and connection.”
Rosarito’s tourism board (COTUCO) is encouraging local residents, visitors from neighboring cities, and travelers from across Baja California to attend the festival’s diverse lineup.
According to CuatroxCuatro, this year’s programming revolves around themes of migration, feminism, childhood, and the city, with free events held throughout each day. The schedule includes stage performances, documentary screenings, long-form performance pieces, book presentations, and site-specific works across urban and natural landscapes in Rosarito.
