Tijuana’s Fire Department has closed off its beaches for the next two days due to Saturday night’s rainfall.

Rainfall created runoff into local beaches that prompted authorities to close them to the public, as trash and other waste accumulated beyond safe levels.

The Fire Department’s morning shift manager said there haven’t been any setbacks, but if it rains again during the week then the temporal closing could be extended.

The beaches were closed off again this past week due to high tides and 5-foot waves. The situation has calmed down recently with waves of less than 3 feet.
