San Diego Binational Affairs Office opens in Tijuana

By then, issues such as waiting times to cross the border into the United States should be resolved. In Filner's opinion, the times were unacceptable, a fact that Washington and Mexican authorities do not understand.



Some studies that have been conducted in San Diego show that two-thirds of their population has never crossed the border. But with this new binational collaboration, authorities are hoping that it will open the doors to them and show how much Tijuana, Baja California and Mexico on security and economic matters has grown.

"We miss out on opportunities, lose ideas and lose solutions every day. The daily contact between these two cities is something that will help with real-time agreements," said Filner before saying goodbye to the media.



Entrepreneurs and local businessmen saw this as a good thing between Tijuana and San Diego, because with this new bond, they are expecting it to have a great economic impact in both cities, as well as improving the conditions within.
