A man in San Diego became a hero for six tiny lives after he discovered abandoned puppies inside a bucket in a busy area near the old Highway 395 and S/R 76.
Rather than just call it in, the man stayed with the puppies, keeping them safe until deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department arrived. The little pups were then transported to the Fallbrook substation and handed over to the Department of Animal Services, where they are now receiving care.

Authorities praised the man’s fast action, saying his intervention likely saved all six puppies.

“No two calls are ever the same,” the sheriff’s office noted, “and looking out for each other—especially the most vulnerable—can make all the difference.”
