San Diego’s Star Parties offer a free and unforgettable way to connect with nature, learn about the sky, and enjoy the outdoors with friends or family. Hosted by County Park Rangers and the San Diego Astronomy Association, these events combine stargazing, nocturnal hikes, and hands-on learning.
Starry Skies at Oakoasis County Preserve in San Diego
Nestled in Lakeside, Oakoasis County Preserve offers a special kind of magic after sunset. The evening begins with a twilight hike through the preserve, where you might catch a glimpse of local wildlife. Once darkness creeps in, astronomers set up high-powered telescopes to see planets, constellations, and other celestial sights up close.
When: On the second Saturday of each month.
