San Diego’s vibrant Little Saigon district is set to host the city’s premier Lunar New Year celebration in February 2026, offering a free, family-friendly immersion into Asian culture and cuisine.

Now in its 16th year, the San Diego Lunar New Year Festival will take place from February 14-16 at 3792 Fairmount Ave. The event, which runs daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., is one of the region’s most anticipated cultural gatherings.

A Traditional Festival with Asian Flavors

The festival promises a dynamic lineup of traditional performances, including multiple daily lion and dragon dances, folk arts, cultural exhibitions, and culinary offerings.

Organizers have announced several popular food and drink challenges returning to entertain the crowds. Attendees can watch or participate in the pho eating challenge, the bubble milk tea competition, a dumpling wrapping contest, and the Bún Bò Huế challenge, a renowned Vietnamese soup.

A food court will also showcase flavors from across Asia. Visitors can sample dishes from Korea, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China, Taiwan, and the Philippines in a single culinary tour.

Family Fun Activities

The festival is designed with all ages in mind. A dedicated children’s area will feature traditional activities like crafting lucky red envelopes, writing wishes for the wish tree, oracle readings, games, and arts and crafts.

A key attraction will be the Cultural Village, an immersive recreation of Southeast Asian life. This interactive zone will feature traditional mountain houses, a model floating village, cultural markets, and intricate bamboo structures, offering a unique educational experience.
