Starting Tuesday, July 7, through Friday, July 10, access to San Ysidro booth 2 via Second Street will be temporarily closed during nighttime hours to accommodate scheduled maintenance work. The Municipal Government, through the Tijuana Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDETI), issued the advisory for users of the Fast Lane Program.

Work will take place nightly from 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Throughout this period, motorists will be rerouted to Sentri West as the sole entry point to the booth. Regular entry through Second Street will resume each morning once the overnight work is completed.

The maintenance project includes the painting of 3,400 linear meters of shoulder markings and 78 linear meters of logarithmic lines, along with the application of the “Fast Lane” legend. These updates are designed to enhance visibility and improve overall safety for approaching drivers.

In addition, crews will install 936 traffic buttons along logarithmic sections, 240 on vibratory strips, and 48 reflective pavement markers. These upgrades are intended to reinforce lane separation and provide clearer directional guidance for drivers entering the crossing.

To assist with traffic flow and minimize disruptions, personnel from the Municipal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCM), working alongside SEDETI, will be stationed in the area throughout the maintenance period to offer directions and support circulation.

The Municipal Government apologizes for any temporary inconvenience these efforts may cause and reiterates its commitment to keeping the San Ysidro Port of Entry’s access infrastructure in top condition in order to to ensure crossings that are safer, better organized, and more efficient for all travelers.
