For this reason, and taking into account that Tijuana is the municipality with the largest population in the entity, Pérez Rico emphasized that if the figure in this indicator does not decrease, restrictions will be considered again.
"Either Tijuana starts to lower its effective reproduction rate or restrictions will be considered. Tijuana is a field that cannot be lost because more than 50% of our population lives there".
The Secretary urged the population to reinforce prevention measures such as: getting vaccinated, using masks, washing hands, avoiding poorly ventilated places, avoiding crowds, and going to the doctor in case of symptoms.
According to the Secretary's recent report, Tijuana has 610 active cases out of the one thousand 570 in Baja California, placing it at the top of the state's list.

In addition, it is expected that during the next three to five days, the increase of these cases in the region will continue. So far, the state has accumulated 56 thousand 612 infections and 8 thousand 969 deaths due to the disease. Of these totals, 180 new cases and 9 deaths were registered in the last 24 hours.
