The Tijuana government, led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño, in collaboration with the Municipal Women’s Institute (IMMUJER) and the Crime Prevention and Citizen Participation Directorate, will host a self-defense workshop on July 25 at the Terrazas del Valle Community Development Center (located on Paseo de las Lomas in the Terrazas del Valle neighborhood).

Araceli Márquez Peña, Director of IMMUJER, explained that this initiative aims to promote preventive measures that enhance women’s safety and well-being. The workshop will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., providing practical self-defense techniques while also fostering confidence, self-care, and empowerment among participants.

Márquez Peña emphasized that the workshop is free and open to girls, teenagers, and women of all backgrounds. Registration can be completed online or by scanning the QR code on the promotional poster.

This self-defense workshop reflects the Tijuana government’s ongoing commitment to prevention, safety, and the shared responsibility of empowering women of all ages.
